As the tide comes,
it washes all away,
leaving pebbles and shells
scattered in the sand.

Shadows, they grow tall,
'ntil they melt in the darkness,
Stirring doubts and questions
in our minds.

Pictures are sliding quickly past one another,
seeming seasons flowing with no rhyme.
Chameleons are blending in, they are afraid to shine,
and to stand.

What is it
that survives the eons of time?
What is it
that eludes the changing veil?
When the tide recedes, what is left to behold?
What remains on the sand, tomorrow to show?
and carved in the stone, for the children to know?

In the rockfall,
shady groves are leveled to the ground,
only to see them grow again
in the turn of an hourglass.

Circles fully drawn,
they appear in comformity
to the laws
surrounding and binding us all.

Metals unnoticed keep sending our signals,
ceaselessly interfering or blending.
Observers and thinkers hustle seeking patterns
and rhymes.

How do we
survive the eons of time?
How do we
endure eternity?
The blood in your veins, it's not empty as void,
It's a vessel of hopes, of virtues and dreams,
you can pass them all on, in your children
they'll flow.
